An AI phone agent is a piece of software that answers your business line, has a real conversation with the caller, and does something useful with it - books the job, takes the details, or transfers the call to you. It runs on your existing number, or a new one that forwards to you. Callers hear a natural voice, not a phone tree, and they do not have to press 1 for anything. When the agent cannot help, it hands off rather than dead-ending the caller.

What it will not do
Every one of these is a real limitation. You should know them before you buy, not after.
- It will not close a complex sale. It books, qualifies, and routes - a human still sells the $40,000 job.
- It needs a clean handoff path. If nobody is reachable for a genuine emergency transfer, the agent cannot invent one.
- Spanish is available on Full Reception and above. Other languages are custom work on Enterprise.
- It takes two to three weeks of real call review before it is genuinely good. Week one is the worst it will ever be.

If something is not covered here, ask us directly. We answer plainly, including when the answer is 'you do not need this'.
Will my customers know it is an AI?
Some will, some will not. We do not instruct it to claim to be a person - if a caller asks directly, it says what it is. In practice most callers care far more about getting an answer at 8pm than about who gave it.
My field-service software already includes call answering. Do I need this?
Maybe not, and we will say so on the call. If you are on Housecall Pro, Jobber, or ServiceTitan you likely have basic answering bundled. What those generally do not do is emergency triage, on-call rotation, Spanish, and multi-location routing. If your needs are simple, use what you are already paying for.
What happens if it does not understand someone?
It transfers, or takes a message and flags it for you immediately. It is instructed to hand off rather than guess. You get the transcript either way, so nothing is lost.
Can it replace my receptionist?
That is not what we sell it for. It covers the hours nobody is there - evenings, weekends, lunch, and the overflow when your front desk is already on a call. Practices that use it well end up with a front desk that is less interrupted, not a front desk that is gone.
